Apple updates Mac mini line with more power, Thunderbolt and OS X Lion

overview_hero.pngIn addition to the Mac OS X Lion release and updated MacBook Air lineup, yesterday Apple also announced a refresh of the Mac mini line. The updated Mac mini is available with either an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, Thunderbolt, AMD Radeon graphics and ships with Mac OS X Lion. For connectivity you get gigabit Ethernet, FireWire 800, HDMI, and SDXC card slot, audio in and out, Thunderbolt, four USB 2.0 ports, 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. What you lose is an optical drive. Does anyone still use those?

Prices range from $599 for 2.3GHz Intel Core i5 and top out at $999 for the 2.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 Mac mini Lion Server with two 500GB hard drives standard. For all the specs and configuration options go here. All models are available online and in Apple stores now.
