Apps help you get a handle on March Madness



March Madness is here as NCAA kicks off its annual men's college basketball tournament Sunday, March 11. As the brackets fill up, check out these apps to help keep track of your favorite team on your mobile devices.


For iOS, Android or Windows phones
Create and keep track of unlimited tournament brackets, organize and manage pools online or off, automatically create rankings with this app. You can also send invitations to join by email, Facebook or Twitter. Once the tournament starts, the bracket is updated with scores and ranking after each game. $0.99.

Mobile Madness
For iOS
If you want something simple, try this free app. You'll get live scores that are updated periodically, final scores for the current round, and the tournament bracket that's filled in as the teams are selected and advance. Free on iTunes Apps Store.

NCAA March Madness Live
For iOS and some Android
You can watch or listen to the games on your computer, iPhone, iPad and some Android phones with this interactive app. Keep track of scores, schedule, bracket (by region, round or date), live box scores and highlights. You can also get alerts about upsets and close games. The app will be available starting today in the iTunes App Store and Google Play (a.k.a. Android Market). The download is free; you'll be asked to pay $3.99 when you launch. But that's for all 67 games.
