Dot is the world's smallest stop-motion animation character

Stop-motion animation is nothing new. I can remember watching the old "Gumby and Pokey" shows when I was a kid and they date back to the mid 1950's. But a stop-motion movie made in an area the size of a postage stamp? That's new.

Meet Dot, reported to be the world's smallest stop-motion star. In this movie, Dot can be seen battling with fabric fibers, hopping across push-pins and riding a bumblebee. The whole thing was shot with a Nokia N8 phone using Cell Scope technology.

Cell Scope originally was developed for medical applications so doctors could have a way to do medical microscopy in the field and quickly send images back for analysis. Watch the video below to see how it works.
