Firefox 4 beta is available for download

The latest play in the Internet browser ping-pong match brings us the long-awaited Firefox 4 beta which was released for Windows, Mac and Linux today. There are too many new features to list but you can go to this handy comparison chart for a quick look at what's changed and what's coming. Notable among the new features is native support for the HD HTML5 WebM video format, a new add-on manager and crash protection.

You can download it here to give it a try. This is beta software so install it with care and make sure you read about the known issues before you hose up your whole system. Or you could just let me do it and hose up my system so I can tell you all about it here. Remember, if you try it and something goes wrong I will deny telling to you about this in the first place.

This post will self-destruct in 30 seconds...
