I have some good news to share with you, fellow gadgeteers. The Gadget Guy blog just received an Eppy Award for Best Consumer Technology Blog in the less than 250,000 unique visitors per month division. The entry was made on my behalf by the St. Petersburg Times and tampabay.com, where the Gadget Guy blog began in June of 2010. Included in the entry were the following blog posts and videos:

• Cooking food on the Car-B-Q can help you reach your manifold destiny

The EPPY Awards, presented by Editor & Publisher, honor the best media-affiliated websites across 43 diverse categories. Now in its 16th year, this international contest has broadened its scope to keep up with the ever-changing Internet industry.

In addition to presenting awards to the media industry, the EPPY Awards recognize excellence in college and university journalism with awards being given in five different categories including Best College Newspaper Website.

Entries in the EPPY Awards are judged by a panel of notable figures in the media industry, chosen by the staff of Editor & Publisher.

Thanks to all the gadgeteers out there who have read and followed the Gadget Guy on tampabay.com. Without such a great audience this award would not have been possible. Although I left the Times in October, I continue to provide some content for the blog on tampabay.com and for use in the St. Petersburg Times, on a contract basis.
