If you see Batman on a bike in traffic, he may be wearing one of these
I've been a big Batman fan since I was a kid and grew up with the original campy, 1960s version of the winged superhero in tights. The Dark Knight's image has become, well, a lot more dark since then and the tights are long gone. That's a good thing, because if I saw someone riding around on a motorcycle looking like the 1960s Batman I would be tempted to call Commissioner Gordon or Arkham Asylum. Now if I saw someone wearing one of the Batman suits from UD Replicas, however, I might ask them for an autograph.
UD Replicas specializes in making fully-functional leather motorcycle suits that are meticulously detailed to look like the stuff of comic book and sci-fi legend. These are not costumes, but actual protective body armor ensembles for serious motorcycle enthusiasts. Two different Batman suits are available (Batman Begins and The Dark Knight) and each includes separate jacket, pants, boots and gloves that can be purchased as a package or as individual parts. Suits for Tron, Daredevil, IronMan and X-Men also are available and plans are in the works for Star Wars Stormtrooper and Darth Maul suits too. All are officially licensed and are available as limited editions.
Prices start at around $1000 and the Dark Knight suit will cost you about $1300. If you want one of those you'd better hurry because sales close for it on August 31. Batbike not included.
