Instagram iPhone app users send photos with messages of hope for Japan
Users of the popular Instagram iPhone app are creating photos to send messages of hope and support
to Japan in the wake of the devastating 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami. By tagging the photos with hashtag #prayforjapan in the comments, the photos automatically go to a feed on the webstagram site, which is a special server set up to collect Instagram photos sorted by topic.
You also can view photos from around the world by using the Popular button, and you can like and comment on the photos in the app and on the webstagram feed as well. The app is free but you must set up an account to post photos and make comments.

As we all watch in horror while the tragedy of today's events continue to unfold, this is another inspiring use of technology with messages of hope for the victims. If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod take a minute to download the app and contribute to the cause.
