iPad 2 coming March 2, thin enough to fold and put in your wallet!
Today many tech sites are reporting that a new version of the iPad wil be revealed by Apple on March 2. These reports are all over the place with their predictions but the common ones that seem believable are:
- It will be thinner
- It will have at least a rear-facing camera for FaceTime video conferencing and maybe a front-facing camera too
- It will have an SD card slot
- It will be slightly faster.
More reports are saying this iPad will be an incremental change, along the lines of the changes between the iPhone 3G and the 3GS. Also we can expect iPads available on both the AT&T and Verizon networks.
None of this official and even the March 2 event has not been confirmed. It does seem likely though, and one of the more reputable sites with details if the Wall Street Journal's All Things Digital.
There will be many more rumors before we hear the truth, many of which will be wrong. In the interest of doing my part, I'm going to start a new rumor now. That's right, the iPad 2 will be so thin you can fold it up and put it in your wallet for storage. You heard it here first folks! Or maybe this double-secret probation hands-on review showing a larger iPad is the real deal this time. Who knows?
