iPhone 4 price drops at Radio Shack and Target could mean iPhone 5 coming soon
In their weekly sales flier, Radio Shack dropped the price of the iPhone 4 to $169.99 and $269.99 for the 16GB and 32GB models, and the price can be reduced further by trading in an iPhone 3G or 3GS for a $100 credit with a new or upgraded 2-year contract. Target is reported to also be cutting the price on the 16 GB and 32 GB iPhone 4 to $149 and $249 respectively, with a similar $100 reduction for trade-ins. This is fueling speculation that the iPhone 5 release is closer than has been previously reported since it looks like an attempt to clear iPhone 4 stock.
This price reduction does not seem to be extending to other retailers, such as Best Buy and Walmart, and so far AT&T and Verizon stores are still selling the iPhone 4 at the standard prices of $199 and $299 for with new or upgraded contracts.
