Jawbone Thoughts iPhone app sends voice messages to anyone
Jawbone has released a free app for the iPhone called Thoughts. The app lets you record your thoughts and send them as a voice message to anyone on your iPhone contact list, including groups. The person receiving the message does not have to have the app, but if they do they also can choose to transcribe the message to text. Ten free transcriptions are included and more can be purchased from within the app.
A few weeks back I did an extended post about technologies for sending messages while driving. When using a headset, this new app is yet another tool that can help you keep both hands on the wheel and still communicate in a modern way.
Have you ever received a text or email from someone, or sent one, and reacted in a negative way because the tone of the message was misunderstood? That's because when we remove vocal inflection and emotion it's more difficult to understand the mood and intent of the sender. Using this app you can send a voice message to GROUPS on your contact list, giving them the benefit of hearing your voice and knowing if you're trying to be funny, sarcastic or serious. Let's hope Jawbone makes this available for the Android too because this is a good one.
