LG introduces Optimus Black Android phone, called slimmest smartphone in the world
(Las Vegas, Nevada - January 5, 2011- CES) - In the first press conference of the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Press Day in Las Vegas, LG has announced the LG Optimus Black, calling it the slimmest smartphone in the world.
With a 4-inch Nova display and a body on 9.2mm thick weighing just 109g, the Optimus Black has been designed to be the clearest, brightest and most readable in it's class. The screen is said to be so bright it's viewable in direct sunlight.
It comes with a 2MP front-facing camera for video calls, WiFi Direct for transfers between compatible phones. It will ship running Android 2.2 and will be available in the first six months of 2011. No more specs were available but you can read the press release here for some more details.
The Optimus Black shaves the Apple iPhone 4 by just one tenth of a millimeter to make it's claim as the world's slimmest smartphone.
