More microphones for Flip cameras, Smartphones and iPods
So I just told you about some cool adapters for the iPhone 4 that will let you use professional microphones. But what if you have a different Smartphone a Flip video camera or an iPod Touch? Well, here's some more.
Blue Microphones has two adapters for the Flip and iPod. Called the Mikey for iPod and Mikey for Flip, both adapters are plug-and-play and have built-in microphones with on board sensitivity switches. Both also have mic-in ports for connection of various external microphones. With the Mikey for iPod, it's possible to monitor incoming audio using the iPod's headphone jack. Below are the specs for each.

It's important to note the Mikey for iPod will not work with the iPhone 4 due to a change made in the headphone jack. It may work, however, with an iPhone 3GS. See my earlier post about

The Mikey for iPod comes packaged with
Blue FiRe audio recording and editing app. The app is a free download and does not require the use of a Mikey. Podcasters, radio reporters or anyone who needs to record interviews and upload them quickly will the Blue FiRe app and it's built-in ftp capability.
