Motorola WiFi-only Xoom now official, available March 27

Yesterday I told you the Motorola Xoom was listed in a WiFi only flavor at B&H Photo and Video for $599. Today it was confirmed. The Xoom will be available on March 27 and will be available at Best Buy, Walmart, RadioShack, Amazon, Costco, Sam's Club, Staples, 7-11....OK, I made that last one up. Seems like they're pretty desperate to sell these things now!

All the specs are the same as the the 3G/future 4G Xoom except the mobile broadband radios are gone. The Xoom ships with Android 3.0 Honeycomb with a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (expandable through microSD cards). It has a 10.1-inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution and two cameras. Of the Android tablets I've seen and tested, the Xoom is by far the best. The price really hurts it though, as it would be much easier to sell at a $499 for the WiFi version.
