NASA AstroApp for iOS pays tribute to the Space Shuttle program

After 30 years, the Space Shuttle program is coming to a close and there are only two remaining missions. To celebrate the accomplishments and pay tribute to all the brave astronauts who made them possible, NASA has released the AstroApp for iOS. The app has indexes for all the missions and profiles for all the astronauts. And for those who always dreamed of being a Shuttle astronaut, the "Suit Me Up" feature gives you the chance to put on the suit using your camera or an existing photo in your camera roll.

I found myself drawn to read many of the astronaut's profiles, especially that of school teacher Christa McCauliffe and the other astronauts who gave their lives in the name of space exploration. With 133 completed missions and two more to go, it's really amazing that so many astronauts survived unharmed.
