Smartphone domination continues: Two-thirds of Americans who bought a new mobile phone in the past three months chose a smartphone, according to a Nielsen report. Android is still leading by 51.8 percent to Apple's 34.3 percent. Washington Post

Apple adds category for foodies: Sorting through thousands of apps to find the perfect food-related app has been a challenge. Apple now made it a bit easier by creating the Food & Drink category, which will prominently feature apps related to grilling, cocktails, and craft beer.

Find some deals this month: July is prime time to find bargains on tablets, PCs and DSLRs. Many manufacturers, from Apple to Amazon, have back-to-school and other discount programs. Business Insider
