Samsung announces new 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab

Samsung announced a new 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain today. Some early photos were leaked over the weekend but with the device now confirmed we're starting to get some hands-on reports, like this one on the Mashable site.

Specs on this new tablet are:

  • 10.1-inch display (1280 X 800)
  • 1GHz Dual Core Processor
  • Dual Surround Sound speakers
  • HD video recording and playback
  • 8MP rear-facing and 2MP front-facing cameras
  • Weighs just 599g
  • Ships with Android 3.0 (Honeycomb)
  • 4G network ready
  • 10.1 Flash

With more and more new tablets coming out and a new version of the iPad rumored to be coming soon, the specs on this new Galaxy Tab don't exactly rock my world. Competing manufacturers are going to have to get more creative than this if they expect to get a piece of the very large pie Apple already controls with the iPad.
