Samsung Galaxy Tab is light, bright and feels good in your hands
(Las Vegas, Nevada - January 6, 2011- CES) I love my iPad, but after holding the new 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab I'm absolutely smitten with the size of it. It just feels right in your hands, much in the same way as a Kindle or a Nook.
People were still clamouring for a chance to hold one of these tablets near the end of the first day and now I know why. The screen is bright and very sharp. Enabled with 4G LTE, the Galaxy Tab features a 7-inch enhanced TFT display with 1024 x 600 WSVGA resolution running Android™ 2.2 with Adobe® Flash® 10.1 capability. The 1.2GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird application processor provided snappy reponse times when I tried it today.
A rear-facing 5-megapixel camera, is joined by a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera and camcorder for video chat capabilities. It's loaded with features and included apps too.
Apple needs to reconsider it's position on the 7-inch iPad issue. I would miss the iOS platform, but the form-factor and feature set of this tablet is nearly enough for me to consider a switch the Android platform.
