Sprint 4G service now live in Tampa Bay
Sprint's 4G wireless service is now operational in Tampa Bay. Added to the lineup Nov. 1, Tampa Bay joins New York City, Hartford, New Haven, New Brunswick and Trenton to bring Sprint's 4G market count to 61. By the end of the year they plan to expand service to several major new markets including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Denver and Washington DC.
Said to be up to 10 times faster than 3G service, 4G requires the use of a 4G enabled device. Sprint currently offers two phones, the Samsung Epic™ 4G and the HTC EVO™ 4G, and the Overdrive™ 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot in their 4G lineup plus two USB 4G data devices.
