Verizon and AT&T kiss and make up in new iPhone commercial

11x0123ni22154.jpgOK, file this one under the weird column. Looking like two politicians after a campaign in which they tried to discredit each other, Verizon and AT&T are in a new iPhone 4 ad released by Apple that makes them look as if they have kissed and made up. But we know better, don't we?

The ad shows two iPhone 4s with two hands taking them through their identical paces, using the Safari web browser, Facebook, multi-tasking, the App Store and FaceTime, among other tasks. The phones are then pulled away to reveal logos for the two mobile carriers, with the slogan: "Two is better than one." Group hug, everyone.

The phones looks pretty snappy in the video. It's important to mention, however, that a note at the end of the video says "sequences shortened." This means they cut out parts in the video that make the launching of apps and other tasks appear to happen faster than they really do. They likely did this to keep the video short and since they did it the same with both phones, it's no big deal.
