Verizon's 4G LTE network expands to Pasco County

12_verizon-4g-lte.jpgVerizon recently announced they have expanded their 4G LTE (Fourth Generation/Long-Term Evolution) wireless network to include Pasco County. Currently the service is available in the central parts of Zephyrhills and some additional parts of the county. Verizon's current offering of 4G LTE services includes Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Saint Petersburg, Orlando, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Gainesville, Sarasota-Bradenton and Lakeland. Many airports in the state have 4G service as well.

Verizon says their national 4G LTE coverage now includes 117 cities with service available to more than 160 million Americans, which is roughly half the U.S. population. They expect to complete their 4G LTE coverage in Pasco County, the remainder of Florida and across the country by 2013. In optimal conditions Verizon says their 4G LTE network can provide wireless speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G speeds.
