Woman uses iPhone to check on pet, catches burglar instead

3

January

Want to catch a burglar in your house? There's an app for that. This morning TODAY’s Matt Lauer had Claire Blevins of Colorado on the show and she described recently using a web cam, her iPhone and the iCam app to check on her dog at home. What she saw instead was a burglar rifling through her home. She tells Lauer that it’s the “creepiest thing” that has happened to her. Watch the interview below.

iCam can be used on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch over WiFi, 3g or Edge connections. To access your home webcam you also have to download the free iCamSource software for Mac 10.4 and above  or Windows XP/Vista or 7. The iOS app is $4.99. The desktop software can be configured to access multiple cameras via USB and FireWire as well as networked web cams via Ethernet or WiFi.
