Tied game
It hasn't been pretty, but the Lightning tied the game 3-3 three minutes into the third period on Vinny Lecavalier's second goal of the game. Lecavalier scored on a wraparound goal at 11:46 in the second to bring the game within one. For the remainder of the period, Tampa Bay stepped it up a notch with its forechecking.
But the key to the last half of the second was a pad save that Holmqvist made on Scott Gomez's slap shot from 28 feet out on a 3-on-1 breakaway that had goal written all over it.
Side note, we're having wireless problems here at the arena. Our strength signal is excellent, not to be confused with the officiating tonight, which has been ticky-tack. Maybe they've already moved it to Newark -- the wireless, that is, not the officials. Now that would be a story.
