Salary cap is $56.7-million

The cap of $56.7 million, announced today by the league and the Players Association, is $6.4-million more than last season. The floor for next season is $40.7-million. Don't expect the Lightning to reach the cap, but it should be well above the floor, especially if new owners Oren Koules and Len Barrie make good on their promise to be "shockingly aggressive" in the free agent market that opens Tuesday.
