Lightning gets Recchi
Here's one no one saw coming. Lightning owner Len Barrie said Monday night the team signed veteran free agent Mark Recchi to a one-year deal worth $1.25-million with incentives that could make it worth $1.5-million.
"I've know Mark for about 20 years," Barrie said. "He's a future Hall of Famer and with Gary Roberts, working with Vinny (Lecavalier), the culture of our locker room is going to be set and become a winning locker room."
Recchi, 40, split last season between the Penguins and Thrashers and had 12 goals and 40 points in 53 games with Atlanta. He has 522 career goals and 1,381 points in 1,410 NHL games.
