Ramo, Heward called up

As expected, and as coach Rick Tocchet said Saturday, goaltender Karri Ramo and defenseman Jamie Heward were called up from AHL Norfolk for Sunday's game with the Devils. Tampa Bay has been hit by a spate of injuries and needed the reinforcements after forwards Chris Gratton (knee) and Gary Roberts (upper body) were placed on injured reserve, and goalie Mike Smith (lower body) was ruled out of the game.

Ramo, 22, who will back up starter Olie Kolzig, is 4-8-3 with Norfolk with a 3.48 goals-against average and an .889 save percentage. Heward has five goals and 12 points in 12 games.
