Olaf Kolzig still not ready, says he will make sure he is 100 percent for return after earlier setback
G Olaf Kolzig said though he is “feeling good,” his timetable to return from an upper body injury is indefinite after aggravating the problem last week in Atlanta.
“I got ahead of it a little bit thinking it was fine, but it went on me again,” he said after working out on-ice Saturday morning at St. Pete Times Forum. “This time I’m going to make sure I am 100 percent. I’ve never had anything like this before.”
Karri Ramo was recalled from Norfolk on an emergency basis last week but has not played as starter Mike Smith continues to excel. Kolzig has not played since making 31 saves in a win at Montreal on Dec. 11.
