The Lightning put Chris Gratton on re-entry waivers for at least the second time since he was sent to AHL Norfolk with the hope someone would claim him, and it happened Saturday as the Blue Jackets stepped up to the plate. The Lightning is still responsible for half of what remains of Gratton's $1.25-million salary. The Blue Jackets pay the other half.

Tampa Bay made two others moves, sending wing Steve Downie and defenseman Ty Wishart to the Admirals.

Lightning coach Rick Tocchet said Downie has hit a wall with his conditioning and may need to go on a Steven Stamkos-type program over the summer. For now, Tocchet said, Downie needs to play more than the 8:25 of ice time he is averaging for Tampa Bay. He said Downie will be in Norfolk for a couple of weeks "at least."

Wishart has done fine in his third brief call-up from Norfolk, and has given a little more of the physical play the Lightning wants to see from him. But with Marek Malik (ankle) expected to play Sunday against the Bruins, Tocchet said, Wishart, who had been called up on an emergency basis, had to go back down. Tocchet also said defenseman Lukas Krajicek (lower body) will be a game-time decision. Karri Ramo will be in net on Sunday, though I have to say Mike McKenna did himself proud Saturday with a new paint job on his mask (its solid black) and new goalie pads, also black, which take over for the multi-colored pads he brought from Norfolk.
