Huge game for Stamkos at the world championship

Lightning rookie Steven Stamkos scored two first-period goals Thursday and added an assist as Canada beat the Czech Republic 5-1 at the world championship in Switzerland. Stamkos' five goals in four games tied him for the tournament lead with Finland's Niko Kapanen.

Tampa Bay's Marty St. Louis, who leads the tournament with 11 points, had an assist and a goal on which Stamkos assisted.
