Lecavalier surgery "successful"
The team said the arthroscopic surgery done on Vinny Lecavalier's right wrist to clean up some damaged cartilage was successful, and he should be able to begin unrestricted training in four to six weeks. The procedure was done at the Philadelphia Hand Center by orthopedist A. Lee Osterman, who operated on Lecavalier's left wrist in the summer of 2007 for another cartilage problem.
Lecavalier, 28, is out of consideration to participate in the world championships but said he will attend an August camp for Team Canada's 2010 Olympic team. He should be fine for next season's training camp.
