NY Post says Rangers might go after St. Louis

You can expect a lot more of this kind of story as the summer draft gets closer and the rumor mill really gets churning. And we certainly aren't going to start yammering about every "perhaps" and "maybe" someone wants to throw out there without attribution. But given Rangers coach John Tortorella's affinity for Lightning star Marty St. Louis, the idea of New York at least trying to go after the right wing isn't that outrageous, though Tampa Bay giving up St. Louis has to be in the "very unlikely" category.

Anyway, the Post speculates because St. Louis always has been one of Torts' guys, he would be the perfect addition to a team that needs offensive help. It also says the Lightning likely would demand Marc Staal as part of a heavy compensation package. Remember, too, St. Louis has a no-trade clause and the Lightning has to lovehow St. Louis, whose salary goes down to a very manageable $4 million next season, has brought out the best in Steven Stamkos.

So, let's keep it all in perspective.
