Appears minor leaguer Radek Smolenak signed with the KHL
This is unconfirmed from the Lightning, but the Czech website hokej.cz is reporting minor leaguer Radek Smolenak, a restricted free agent, has signed with Niznekamsk of the Russian Continental Hockey League.
Smolenak, 22, played six games for Tampa Baylast season with one assist and 10 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Czech native played 71 games for AHL Norfolk with 24 goals, 49 points and 165 penalty minutes.
Drafted in the third round (73rd overall) in 2005, the left wing was at the end of a three-year rookie contract.
