Nick Kelly's takeaways from the Lightning's 2-1 win over the Panthers:

Wear sunglasses if you go to a game at Amalie Arena this season. The ice is lit by new LED lights under the Ephesus Lumadapt LED Sports Lighting System. The lights, upgraded for the first time since 2011, cost more than $600,000. They provide a noticeable difference in a good way.

Mathieu Joseph started his NHL career well. He got the crowd's attention with a hit and drew a penalty in the second period. The hit came when he smashed a Panther against the boards. Joseph drew the penalty when he stole the puck during a penalty kill and started to skate through the neutral zone.

Florida goaltender Roberto Luongo had to be helped off the ice after a teammate fell on one of his legs in the second period. James Reimer replaced him. Luongo didn't return to the game.
