Little information as lights go out at the Prudential Center
As I write this, the game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Devils has been delayed 90 minutes because the lights on one half of the Prudential Center ice have gone out. And like that little old lady who fell and can't get up, there seems to be nothing the people who run the building can do about it. ... Read more
Some insight from the league on the delay
So, I just got off the phone with Mike Murphy, the league's vice president of hockey operations. He said if the lights could not be fixed, the game could be postponed or rescheduled, but that is not the league's first choice and, ultimately, Murphy said, the call will be made by commissioner Gary Bettman.
Murphy said as long as the "conditions are safe," the league would rather get the game in. Makes sense, but, really how long can you wait? The Lightning plays in Philadelphia on Saturday and the Devils play in Montreal. ... Read more
Game called because they couldn't keep the lights on at the Prudential Center
It's obvious they have called the game. The sticks have been taken off the benches. The nets have been removed. But no announcement by the PA. Sad. TV says the game has been suspended but no other information inside the arena. Guess the fans need to be mind readers.

Tampa Bay Lightning lineup changes for Sunday's game with the Devils
The teams had to use Friday’s lineups, which meant C Jeff Halpern, who on Saturday played his first game after healing from a lower-body injury, was back in the press box. D Andrej Meszaros, scratched Friday, played because D Matt Smaby is out with an upper-body injury sustained in Saturday’s loss to the Flyers. Smaby seemed to go shoulder first into the side boards after he got tangled up with Philadelphia’s Danny Briere. D David Hale, also scratched Friday, replaced D Mattias Ohlund, out with a stomach virus. The Devils lineup was the same. ... Read more
