Lightning's ownership situation made easy
A lot of information has become available the past few days about the Lightning's ownership situation and owners Oren Koules and Len Barrie, who over the summer mounted efforts to buy each other out under a league-mandated program that since has been modified. Anthony Sansone Jr. says he still is interested in buying the Tampa Bay Lightning
A St. Louis real estate developer who also has been kicking the Tampa Bay Lightning's tires, reiterated he still has interest in buying the team, but declined comment on where his due diligence stands, though it is reasonable to assume he still is determining if the numbers work.

Tentative agreement reached in sale of Tampa Bay Lightning to Jeffrey Vinik
It is not yet a done deal, but a tentative agreement apparently has been reached in the proposed sale of the Lightning to Boston hedge fund manager Jeff Vinik. More work has to be done and final signatures still are needed, but the process occurring at the NHL offices in New York seems to be in its final stages. Troubles for former Lightning co-owner Len Barrie continue; even the RCMP might be involved
Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper did a story for Wednesday's edition about the continuing saga of former Lightning co-owner Len Barrie, who is facing lots of problems in connection with the bankruptcy of his Bear Mountain Resort, money from which he allegedly used to help purchase the Lightning. The story also contains a list of NHL investors who put money into Bear Mountain and, according to the story, likely will not see any financial relief from the bankruptcy proceeding.
