According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the brass of the Canadian Olympic team has told Philadelphia's Jeff Carter that he will be the replacement if Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf (ankle sprain) cannot play in the Vancouver Games. Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Mike Smith said he has "a lot of respect" for coach Rick Tocchet, "and the whole Lightning organization," for allowing him to fly to Vancouver to watch girlfriend, Brigitte Acton, ski for Canada in the Olympics.
