Tampa Bay Lightning GM Brian Lawton reiterates keeping No. 2 draft pick is likely
Regardless of what the Islanders do with the No. 1 draft pick, the Tampa Bay Lightning seems more determined than ever to use the second pick rather than trade. That is what general manager Brian Lawton indicated in a brief discussion about what might happen June 26-27 in Montreal.

The sharpshooter is still considered by many to be the draft's top player and the conventional wisdom has him being picked by the Islanders with the No. 1 overall selection. First, let me say I never expected to bring the heat and humidity from Florida to Montreal, but it's toasty and in the 80s here today, and you can feel it when you walk around. And let me put in another rant against the airlines, which, despite clear skies in Tampa at 6 a.m. this morning and in Atlanta at 8:20, my scheduled departure, still could not get me to Montreal on time.
