Feaster pokes blogosphere

Lightning general manager Jay Feaster said he has gotten a little tired of some of the criticism he said has been heaped on the organization for the Web site the team created in order to give No. 1 overall pick Steve Stamkos some pub. Some apparently believed the site put too much pressure on the center much like former owner Art Williams did when he called Vinny Lecavalier the Michael Jordan of hockey.

Feaster, his voice rising as he spoke, said the critics missed the point.

"People overthink what the web site is," Feaster said. "We don't play in a hockey-mad market. We're still behind football. If it were a Buccaneer player, he could have played at Podunk State in Division V and everyone would know him. We wouldn't have to do an awareness campaign. This was never about let's heap the burden of franchise on the next Michael Jordan of hockey. All this was about was an awareness campaign. ... But there are some people, man, in the blogs and the blogosphere who really overthought this thing."
