Lightning lineup for Wednesday's game with the Coyotes in Loveland, Colo.
Lightning coach Rick Tocchet has said that beginning with Wednesday's game with the Coyotes in Loveland, Colo., that he will start using a lineup that better represents what the team will look like when the regular season starts. Not that there won't be changes, and continued evaluation of players on the bubble, but, as he said, "I have to start going with the real team."
One note: You might have read this morning in the paper that goaltender Mike Smith was inadvertently kicked in his private parts by teammate Ryan Craig during Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Coyotes in Everett, Wash. Smith joked about it afterward and clearly was not affected as he made 32 saves on 33 shots. Smith has now stopped 50 of 52 preseason shots. So far, Smith seems as if he is back after a seven-month recovery from post concussion syndrome.
For tonight:
Goaltenders: Antero Niittymaki, Jaroslav Janus. Defensemen: Kurtis Foster, Victor Hedman, Matt Lashoff, Mike Lundin, Mattias Ohlund, Matt Walker. Forwards: Alex Tanguay, Vinny Lecavalier, Stephane Veilleux, Ryan Malone, Steven Stamkos, Marty St. Louis, Radek Smolenak, Paul Szczechura, Steve Downie, Zenon Konopka, Blair Jones, Martins Karsums.
