Lightning reassigns Blair Jones to Norfolk
No surprise. With Simon Gagne back in the lineup, the Tampa Bay Lightning reassigned center Blair Jones to AHL Norfolk. Here is the announcement from the team:
The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned forward Blair Jones to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League today, Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced.
Jones, 6-foot-2, 216 pounds, has played in nine games with the Lightning this season, recording a goal and two points with an even rating. He has averaged 7:53 in ice time per game with the Lightning this season. Jones was most recently recalled to Tampa Bay on November 20. He has played in 12 games with Norfolk this season, notching seven goals and 16 points with a plus-7 rating. Jones is tied for third on the team for goals and is fourth for points.
A native of Central Butte, Saskatchewan, Jones has played in 47 career NHL games, all with the Lightning. He has registered two goals and five points with 14 penalty minutes during his career. Last season Jones played in 14 games with the Lightning, recording 10 penalty minutes and averaging a career-best 12:50 in average ice time.
Jones was drafted by Tampa Bay in the fourth round, 102nd overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
