Lightning stars Steven Stamkos and Marty St. Louis should be better in All-Star voting

23

November

I'm going to let this speak for itself.

Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamkos, who is tied for the league lead with 35 points and leads with 20 goals, 10 power-play goals and 17 power-play points, is fourth among forwards in All-Star balloting (behind Chicago's Jonathan Toews, who has 17 fewer points and 11 fewer goals), and is sixth among all skaters, just ahead of Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger. Left wing Marty St. Louis is an inexplicable 38th among forwards even though he is third in the league in scoring and is part of, with Stamkos, what Hall of Fame coach Scotty Bowman called the NHL's hottest teammate duo with Stamkos.

Here are the numbers:

Forwards

1. Sidney Crosby, Penguins, 118,755

2. Alex Ovechkin, Capitals, 80,169
