Mike Vernace clears waivers, goes to Norfolk

Sorry this was a little slow getting on the site, but just landed in Phoenix for Saturday's game. Anyway, as expected, defenseman Mike Vernace cleared waivers and was assigned to AHL Norfolk. The move leaves Tampa Bay one under the 23-player roster limit with left wing Simon Gagne on injured reserve with a strained neck. Gagne is eligible to come off waivers today, though he was not on the plane to Arizona.
