Some stuff for Tampa Bay Lightning fans
Here are a couple of events with announcements from the team:
LIGHTNING FOUNDATION FANTASY AUCTION
The Tampa Bay Lightning, along with Sun Sports, will host the first Lightning Foundation Fantasy Auction during the game broadcast Thursday, April 8 when they take on the Ottawa Senators at 7:30 p.m.
There will be four main fantasy experiences that fans can bid on during the auction.
Package 1 is a day on the golf course for two players with Martin St. Louis and Dave Andreychuk. The experience will take place at a local golf course on a mutually agreed upon date.
The second package available is dinner for four at Donatello, Tampa’s four-star jewel of fine authentic Italian cuisine, with Hockey Hall-of-Famer and Lightning Founder, Phil Esposito.
Package 3 includes a behind the scenes experience with Sun Sports and the Lightning on a game day during the 2010-11 season. A lucky individual will begin the day at the morning skate where he or she will be escorted by Stanley Cup Champion and Sun Sports broadcaster Chris Dingman. The winner will then be seated in the Sun Sports production truck on a game night in which a Tampa Bay player is "mic’d up". The fan will also have the opportunity to have a post game meet and greet with the player.
The fourth and final package consists of an on-ice celebration and skating party with ThunderBug for 50 people at the St. Pete Times Forum. The party includes pizza and soda. It is ideal for a birthday party or youth hockey team party.
Additionally, a limited number of Pledge Packs will be available for $50. Pledge Packs include an autographed puck, hat, 2009-10 Lightning Yearbook, T-shirt and two Tampa Bay Storm football tickets.
To place bids or purchase a Pledge Pack, fans should tune in to Sun Sports for bid updates and call 813.301.6683 during the game broadcast.
SMABY TO SERVE FAN CLUBS AT SUBWAY
The Tampa Bay Lightning, along with The Morning X on 97x, will host the Zenon Konopka and Matt Smaby Fan Clubs at the Subway restaurant located at 9301 4th Street N. in St. Petersburg on Friday, April 9 at 2:30 p.m. The Morning X hosted a contest, which was announced on February 9, 2010, in which fans could vote for each player by purchasing a special ticket package. The contest was won by Konopka.
Members of both clubs will gain access to this exclusive opportunity to join both Konopka and Smaby at Subway. Because Konopka had a greater number of votes, Smaby will serve sandwiches to both clubs. Fans were able to cast votes either by visiting the 97X website or calling the Lightning at 813.301.6600.
Those wishing to join either fan club can still do so at Subway on Friday for as little as $20. By joining they will receive a ticket to the Lightning’s game Saturday against the Florida Panthers, a Konopka or Smaby Fan Club T-Shirt, an autographed photo card and entry into the Subway event.
