Tampa Bay Lightning C Vinny Lecavalier leaves ice after being hit by a shot (updated)
A scary moment for the Tampa Bay Lightning during Saturday night's game with the Panthers at the BankAtlantic Center. Captain Vinny Lecavalier left the ice with 4:11 remaining in the second period after being hit in the right hand or forearm by a shot from Florida defenseman Bryan McCabe.
Lecavalier, 30, dropped his stick and left the ice clutching his right arm. He walked down the hallway toward the trainer's room, but quickly returned to the bench and took a shift before the end of the period, though he did not take a faceoff. Lecavalier did come out with the team for the start of the third period.
We'll see how he is after the game.
