There were really no surprises when the Lightning on Saturday announced 10 more cuts to bring its training camp roster down to 29. Here is the list of players who were reassigned to AHL Norfolk's training camp. Officially, there were 11 cuts, but we already knew about center Carter Ashton, who was returned yesterday to WHL Lethbridge.

Here are the new 10:

Goaltenders: Riku Helenius, Jaroslav Janus, Dustin Tokarski. Defensemen: Vladimir Mihalik, Ty Wishart. Forwards: Blair Jones, Martins Karsums, Juraj Simek, Paul Szczechura, Dana Tyrell.

So, where are the battles still to be fought?

On defense, figure Mattias Ohlund, Victor Hedman, Kurtis Foster, Andrej Meszaros, Paul Ranger and Matt Walker are set. If the Lightning keeps eight, that means two spots are up for grabs between Lukas Krajicek, Matt Smaby, David Hale, Matt Lashoff and Mike Lundin. If trades cannot be made, players are going to have to be sent to the minors. Lashoff and Lundin are on two-way contracts, but anyone the Lightning sends down would be available to be claimed by another team.

At forward, Ryan Malone, Steven Stamkos, Marty St. Louis, Alex Tanguay, Vinny Lecavalier, Steve Downie, Jeff Halpern, Adam Hall, Ryan Craig and Todd Fedoruk, would all seem safe, as well as Zenon Konopka as perhaps the 13th forward. If that is the case, that means decisions need to be made on James Wright, Brandon Bochenski (who is on a one-way contract), Drew Miller and Brett McLean (who would have to be signed). Miller is on a two-way, but would have to be exposed to waivers to get to the minors.
