Tampa Bay Lightning D Brett Clark to Chicago? Will that be price for a forward?

The Blackhawks are looking for defensive help and the Tampa Bay Lightning is looking for a forward. Is this a match? Rumors out of Chicago, originally reported by Blackhawks reporter Tim Sassone said the Hawks could be looking at defenseman Brett Clark.

That would be an interesting move as Clark plays such a big role for the Lightning. He plays about 19 minutes, has eight goals, best on the blue line, with six of those goals on the power play. He also leads the team with 114 blocked shots. Coach Guy Boucher also has said Clark is the Lightning's most patient player with the puck.

But the Lightning is still unsure if injured wing Ryan Malone will be ready for the playoffs, and that's a big body to replace. Tampa Bay also has just 11 forwards on the roster with the reassignment of Johan Harju to AHL Norfolk. That move was made, at least in part, to give the Lightning room to maneuver at Monday's trade deadline.
