Here is the announcement from the team:
The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced the "Tampa Bay Lightning Fan Fest 2009, presented by the Embassy Suites Downtown", will be held on Saturday, August 29 from 3-8 p.m. at the St. Pete Times Forum and it is free to the public. A season ticket holder party, presented by Sweetbay Supermarket, will begin at 1:30 p.m.
The season ticket holder party, presented by Sweetbay Supermarket, will feature free food and beverage along with an exclusive question and answer session with Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton as well as goaltender Mike Smith. Lightning season ticket holders will also get the first opportunity at autographs and all the excitement going on at Fan Fest before the doors open to the public.
The 2009 Fan Fest will include a scrimmage for charity featuring Lightning players and personalities. Current players presently scheduled to play in the game include Martin St. Louis, Steven Stamkos, Mattias Ohlund, Victor Hedman, Andrej Meszaros and Adam Hall. Bolts Community Representative Dave Andreychuk, radio/television personality Chris Dingman and Director of Youth Hockey Brian Bradley, all former Bolts stars, will also participate. The jerseys from the game will be auctioned off for charity.
Also featured during the event will be autograph opportunities with Lightning players and staff presented by the St. Petersburg Times. There will also be various question and answer sessions for fans with players and management during Fan Fest, including one starting at 4:15 p.m. with Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton, Martin St. Louis, Mattias Ohlund and Victor Hedman. Single game tickets for the 2009-10 season will be on sale for the first time at the McDonald’s Box Office at the St. Pete Times Forum. Fans can increase their value by purchasing a ticket package at the Lightning Select-a-Seat, including the special 620 WDAE Season Ticket, which is less than $6.20 per game.
There will be an open skate for the public from 6:30-8 p.m. following the charity scrimmage. Rental skates will not be available so fans are encouraged to bring their own. The Lightning will also be hosting youth hockey clinics presented by Bright House Networks with Bradley during the event. Parents interested in enrolling their children in the camps should visit the ‘Youth Hockey’ section on www.tampabaylightning.com.
Fans in attendance will be able to "Make the Call" at the 620 WDAE radio booth or "phone a friend" with MetroPCS and Lightning celebrities. There will also be a "Gearage Sale" on the West Plaza of the St. Pete Times Forum featuring equipment used by Lightning players. Fans in attendance will also be treated to $2 hot dogs, popcorn and beverages (soda, water and beer).
ThunderBug will be on hand for children and there will be a number of kids’ activities at this family friendly event. The Lightning will also be holding Bolt Brigade auditions for those who want to test their spirit and maybe wind up entertaining fans during all Bolts home games.
