Tampa Bay Lightning G Anders Lindback injured during a workout, expected out 10 days
Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Anders Lindback -- playing for the Finnish team Ilves Tampere during the lockout -- was injured Tuesday during a morning workout when he took a puck off a knee, opening a cut that Lindback's agent Mike Deutsch said required "a few stitches."
Lindback is expected out about 10 days, Deutsch said, and added "there is no structural damage."
Deutsch said Lindback told him he did not even know he was injured as seriously as he was until he took off his gear after practice. "He said, "I took my gear off and couldn't believe there was a cut there."
Losing Lindback is a huge blow for Tampere. Lindback is just 3-6-4 in 13 games but has a 2.33 goals-against average and .933 save percentage. The Lightning over the summer signed Lindback, 24, to a two-year, $3.6 million contract to be its long-term solution in net.
