Tampa Bay Lightning reassigns F Blair Jones, D Mathieu Roy to AHL Norfolk

The Tampa Bay Lightning reassigned defenseman Matt Roy and forward Blair Jones to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League today, Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced.
Roy, 6-foot-2, 208 pounds, played in one game with the Lightning, November 4, 2010 at Los Angeles, recording 9:22 of ice time and two penalty minutes after being recalled on November 1. He has played in nine games for the Admirals this season, recording two goals and eight points with a plus-5 rating.
A native of St. Georges, Quebec, Roy spent last season in the Columbus Blue Jackets organization, skating in a career-high 31 games and notching a career-best 10 assists. He also played in 15 AHL games with Syracuse and Rochester, recording four points. Roy also appeared in six postseason games with the Americans, registering 11 penalty minutes.
Roy was drafted by Edmonton in the seventh round, 215th overall, of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and was signed by Columbus as a free agent on July 14, 2009.
Jones, 6-foot-2, 216 pounds, played in four games with the Lightning after being recalled from the Admirals on October 26. He registered a goal and an assist with a plus-1 rating. He has also recorded four goals and 10 points with a plus-3 rating in seven games with Norfolk this season.
A native of Central Butte, Saskatchewan, Jones has played in 42 career NHL games, all with the Lightning. He has registered two goals and five points with 12 penalty minutes during his career. Last season Jones played in 14 games with the Lightning, recording 10 penalty minutes and averaging a career-best 12:50 in average ice time.
Jones was drafted by Tampa Bay in the fourth round, 102nd overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
