Tampa Bay Lightning signs 2010 top pick Brett Connolly to entry-level contract
Brett Connolly, the Tampa Bay Lightning's top pick, and No. 6 pick overall, in the 2010 draft, has signed an entry-level contract. The paperwork is not yet registered so it is not "official" (that should happen in July). Connolly could not immediately be reached but his father, Pat, confirmed the signing.
Connolly, 19, had 46 goals, 73 points and 26 penalty minutes in 59 games last season for Prince George of the junior Western league. He dislocated a shoulder in the first round of the playoffs, though Pat said his son could have played had the Cougars advanced.
Connolly is currently in Toronto working with a personal trainer. He is expected to attend the Lightning's prospects camp next month.
