Tampa Bay Lightning trades Dominic Moore to the Sharks for a 2nd-round draft pick
The Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday traded center Dominic Moore and a seventh-round draft pick to the Sharks for a second-round pick. This continues a busy day for the team which earlier asked defenseman Pavel Kubina to submit a list of five teams to which he would accept a trade.
Moore, 31, whose contract is expiring at the end of the season and could be an unrestricted free agent, had four goals and 19 points in 56 games for Tampa Bay while averaging 16:16 of ice time. His season, though was nothing like 2010-11, when he had a career-best 18 goals and then had three goals, 11 points in 18 playoff games.
The return is not surprising. GM Steve Yzerman has said he is intent on rebuilding the team's organizational depth with whatever moves he makes going toward the Feb. 27 trade deadline.
